Find Armstrong County Traffic Records

Your Armstrong County traffic court records search starts with one detail: the court named on the citation. Most tickets in the county land in the countywide justice court, but a City of Claude citation goes to Claude's own municipal court instead. Grab that citation number and copy it exactly, because it unlocks the case lookup in either court. The docket can then show your response deadline, plea, hearing setting, payment, or final outcome. No single portal serves both courts, so use the official channel for whichever one issued your ticket. Then confirm any deadline or required action with the clerk directly.

Traffic Court Records in Armstrong County

County traffic tickets go to the Armstrong County Justice of the Peace. Fine-only Class C cases land there too. Armstrong runs one countywide JP precinct. Its clerk keeps the case record, and that same page posts the county's clearest guidance on citations, payment options, contact information, and the public calendar.

Claude Municipal Court is separate. A ticket from that court goes to the City of Claude, not to the county JP just because Claude sits inside Armstrong County. The city offers no official docket search, citation portal, calendar, payment page, or copy-fee schedule. So read the court name on the ticket first, then pick your route.

Armstrong County Traffic Ticket Custodians

This split matters more than anything else here. The county JP page states its office is the only one that can help with an "Armstrong County citation." That promise stops at the county line of responsibility. It does not cover a Claude municipal citation. For the city court, City Hall is the confirmed contact.

Claude City Hall sits at 115 Trice Street, P.O. Box 231, Claude, TX 79019-0231. The phone number is (806) 226-3261. The Texas Judicial Directory currently lists the Claude municipal judgeship as vacant. Ask City Hall who handles the record, the plea, and the setting now. The JP standing order will not answer that for you.

How to Look Up a Traffic Ticket

Let the ticket guide the lookup. Armstrong County offers no public name-search screen, so do not count on searching by name or birth date online. The JP payment route needs the citation or cause number. Lost the ticket? Call the office.

  1. Read the issuing court and copy the citation number exactly.
  2. For an Armstrong County ticket, open the JP page and review its instructions and calendar. Use the cited Payment Group route only when making an authorized payment with the required number.
  3. For a Claude ticket, call or visit City Hall because no city online lookup was found.
  4. If the number is missing or the citation has not appeared, contact the correct court by phone or at its counter. Ask whether a mail inquiry is accepted and what identifiers are needed.
  5. Record the appearance deadline, current setting, disposition path, and any amount the court confirms. Recheck before acting.

A clerk can pull up a court record. The clerk can explain it too. Legal advice is off limits, though. A precise citation number beats a vague name request every time. Armstrong County posts no dedicated public terminal for docket searches.

Armstrong County Traffic Plea Deadline

Treat the JP appearance date as a hard receipt deadline. The Armstrong JP standing order and court page lay out the written plea routes. The plea must reach the office by that date. The page is clear on that point. A plea dropped in the mail on the appearance date itself may arrive too late. Build in mail time.

Arrival controls. Allow mailing time or deliver the signed plea in person. Confirm receipt with the JP clerk before the deadline passes.

Signing a plea is a legal commitment. The official material describes guilty, no-contest, and not-guilty paths. It also lists several possible dispositions. Not every path is open in every case. Check with the court for the current form and procedure. Do not rely on the plea form URL printed in the standing order. Confirm it still works first.

Finding Your Traffic Court Date

The appearance date on the citation may be a response deadline, not a trial date. Check it against the JP calendar. Check mailed notices from the court as well. That calendar offers Day, Week, Month, and Agenda views. It also provides a General filter, period navigation, PDF print, iCal export, and RSS. Still, it is not a full citation index. A blank view does not mean no case or deadline exists.

Date and TimeDistinguish the response deadline from a later hearing or trial setting.
LocationUse the location on the current court notice and verify it by phone.
StatusAsk the custodian for the current pending or disposed status and next required step.

If the calendar and the citation disagree on an Armstrong County ticket, call the JP office. For a Claude ticket, call City Hall, since the city posts no municipal calendar. An attorney on the case is another reliable source for the controlling notice.

Armstrong County Traffic Calendar Limits

The JP calendar helps with public scheduling, not with full traffic record retrieval. Each event may show a title, category, date, time, or all-day status. That applies when the court supplies them. The public view has no stable cause-number field, no party-name search, and no bulk export. It also offers no window into the case-management system behind it.

Date any printout or export you save. One reset can make that file stale. Reopen the official page and ask the JP clerk whether a setting changed. Armstrong County posts no separate county court calendar, and Claude Municipal Court has none either.

Note: A missing calendar entry is not a missing case record. Only the responsible court can confirm current status.

Paying or Contesting a Ticket

Your response turns on the plea and any relief you request. The JP materials spell out guilty or no-contest with a waiver, not guilty with further court contact, and other disposition categories. Paying is not the same as contesting. Never send money before confirming what plea or order it stands for in your case.

Missed Date or Payment: Contact the issuing court immediately. The standing order includes capias pro fine and OMNI or third-party collection categories, but the public statistics and calendar cannot establish any individual status.

Do not assume an online payment alone resolves a missed appearance or another court order.

Armstrong County Traffic Payment Methods

The Armstrong JP page accepts exact cash, money orders, cashier's checks, and MasterCard, Visa, or Discover cards. Personal checks are not accepted for fines, costs, or OMNI fees. Card payments run through Payment Group and need the citation or cause number. No number? Call the JP.

Remember, these payment rules belong to the county JP and may not carry over to Claude Municipal Court. Ask City Hall what methods it takes. Never mail cash without written instructions straight from the court.

Court Traffic Record vs Driver Record

A traffic case in an Armstrong County court docket is one file. A state driver record is another. The court that issued the citation keeps the case itself: the plea, hearing settings, orders, payments, and final disposition. All of it is released under its own rules. A driving history sits with the state, under separate access limits. One file cannot stand in for the other.

The state does not publish a driver-record request URL or a current fee on the county page. Nothing here guesses at those amounts. For the court file, name the issuing court and ask for the exact docket entry, disposition, or certified copy you need.

Armstrong County Traffic Disposition Paths

A standing order lists the traffic outcomes a justice of the peace court may offer. It also covers payment options. The categories include compliance dismissal and dismissal with no fee in listed situations. A driving safety course, deferred disposition, and payment plans are on the list. So are community service instead of a fine, indigency treatment, time served or jail credit, and a not-guilty procedure. None of it guarantees eligibility for any given ticket.

One standard deferred-disposition provision sets a 90-day period for certain traffic matters. It appears in the June 1, 2020 order. It requires a plea, a valid license, and payment of court costs. It also requires no violations during the period, with a deferred fee due by the end. The order carries a date, and the facts of your citation control. Confirm current terms before relying on it.

Ask the JP clerk for the current request form, deadline, amount, and required proof. The court itself decides whether a disposition is available, not any online summary.

Fees and Copies

The county page shows one fee with certainty. It is the card convenience charge for JP payments. No plain-copy price, certified-copy price, or record-search fee appears on it. The county clerk’s real-property recording fees are a different schedule. They do not govern traffic copies. Ask the court what a copy costs before ordering one.

When you request a copy, give the citation or cause number, the exact court, and the document you want. Add a delivery preference and your contact details. Before mailing anything, confirm accepted payment and whether the court wants a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Armstrong County Traffic Docket Scale

The Office of Court Administration justice report covers September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025 and was run January 23, 2026. Armstrong’s JP added 1,127 criminal cases in that span and disposed of 1,110. Another 695 were still pending at period end. Class C and traffic-level matters dominate the docket.

1,127JP criminal cases added
1,110JP criminal cases disposed
695Active pending at period end

Count cases, not people. One driver can appear in several matters. The figures say nothing about how any person’s case ended. Claude’s municipal row in the annual report shows no activity values for the period. That only means the table reported nothing. It does not mean the city lacks a court or records.

Armstrong County Traffic Contact Channels

The county JP lists its contact details on its official page. That covers phone, fax, email, mail, and counter service. Written pleas go by mail or in person. An email address on a contact page does not mean the court accepts a plea, filing, or payment that way. Payment methods are separate from record access too. Always confirm the permitted channel before sending anything.

For Claude traffic records, use City Hall’s phone, fax, email, mail, or counter. Do that until the city names its current municipal custodian and procedure. Whichever court you deal with, keep your citation, your submission, any receipt, and proof of delivery. A mailed docket request should name the citation. It should also name the document wanted and how you want it returned.
